The hypocrisy of Nikon Rumors blog
I was the first English language blog to publish Nikon's leaked marketing images of their upcoming full frame mirrorless camera (you can see them here). I know that, because when I posted them, I checked Nikon Rumors blog right away, and he has not published anything yet. Literally some 15-20 minutes after me he reposted them without linking to me. He's suggesting that the pics came from some of his followers, and is thanking them at the end of this blog post. But where did they get them, if that was true? From my blog most likely. Or from some sources, that also took them from my blog and reposted them. Regardless of that, no credit was given to me, and he is ignoring me ever since.
The hypocrisy
The biggest joke is that the admin of Nikon Rumors, who calls himself Peter, is today complaining, that Endgadget took one of his photos and has not properly credited him:
First of all, you're part of the "new normal"! The whole point of your blog is to steal photos from other websites (like you did in my case), repost them, and in some cases even watermark them! That's way worse than what Endgadget did. Endgadget was honest to their readers. There's no point to link to a shady rumor site like yours. Furthermore, you're not "working hard to get specs", you have your sources who are feeding you just like any other photography rumor website is getting fed. There's absolutely no skill required when you are the sole niche blog for a particular brand, and everybody who likes that product feeds you with information. Endgadget has real journalists who are getting paid for quality content - you're just a reposter. Get off your high horse, my friend.
The irony
Ironically, the only person who linked to my blog was Ken Wheeler aka "The Angry Photographer" - a person Nikon Rumors despises, and is often mocking him on his blog in the comments. For your info, you're not half the person Ken is: Not in knowledge about Nikon or camera gear, even less so in terms of character and honesty.
Thank you Ken for supporting a small blog like me. I got over 7000 hits on my post, and people are still flocking to this blog until today.
